The Other Hef is a documentary-style reality series featuring gorgeous women who are defined by their relationship to one man – Richard C. "Dickie" Hefman, publisher of Swagger Magazine, a thick, glossy, monthly rag targeted at men who like to read short articles about how to win bar bets and survive alligator attacks. What really sells Swagger, like the rest of the magazines of this ilk, are the photo spreads of “models” and “actresses”, many of whom reside at Hefman's estate.
As Dickie says, “I’m not just selling Swagger, I’m selling the Swagger lifestyle.” When you’re the publisher of a cool men’s magazine and you live in a mansion like Dickie does, that “lifestyle” means you’re going to be surrounded by beautiful models, hip Hollywood types and dozens of hangers-on trying to score free Cristal and jumbo shrimp the size of a baby’s arm.
