Tending Your Internet Garden
A new service from WorldWidePR, from £50
In my experience, business owners invest a lot of time and money into setting up their website, but then let the weeds grow by failing to carry out fundamental internet marketing actions to get their site noticed and to drive traffic to it. The reasons? It’s not that complex but you do need to be internet savvy to some degree and it is a bit fiddly, and therefore time consuming, so it’s not everyone’s Garden of Eden.
So WWPR can tend your internet garden for you. We like bullet points at WWPR so here are a 5 for you:
1. Manage your online directory listings – you’d be surprised how often I come across companies that are not even listed in http://yell.com despite every business being entitled to a free listing! There are several other online directories that every business needs to be listed in nowadays to: a) get found when people use that directory (obviously); b) improve the chances of being found in a Google search, your directory listing itself appearing in the results, especially where a keyword-rich description of your business is given in your entry; and c) to help generally improve the Google ranking of your site. Some of the more modern Web 2.0 online directories now allow you to add photos and videos in your listing and to review other companies listed (also with photos and videos) – so, far from being ‘just a bit of admin’, the process of ensuring that your company is well represented in all the important online directories can become a project in its own right; you can really go to town here!
2. Manage your company blog for you – what do you mean, you don’t have a company blog? If you want to play the game today, you have to have a company blog! It’s simply an easy way to tell the world what you are up to. It has the benefit of showing others that you are really alive and that you are an active company. As each post feeds Google with yet more keywords, a major benefit of having a blog is that it increases the chances of getting found in searches and so drives more traffic to your main site. But it has to look right which is where we come in. Send us your raw write-ups, photos and videos and we will blog it for you and make it look good.
3. Give you presence in social networking sites – social networking sites are highly populated online communities, so it makes sense to have some presence within the sites of the biggest players. We can set up your user account in each and keep your details up to date and keep each community informed as to what you are up to, thus creating interest and so driving more traffic to your site. If you had a promotional video you wanted greater exposure for, for example, we could upload it to all the major video sites for you, starting with YouTube, of course.
4. Proactively contribute to other sites on your behalf – blogs and other sites e.g. daily newspapers often invite feedback in the form of comments from their readers. To put your company name and even your URL in front of thousands of readers of an article, highly relevant to your business, is a golden opportunity that very few, today, are taking advantage of. Let WWPR seize the moment for you!
5. Online PR – when you have something more substantial than a blog post to announce (Won an international award? Opened a new branch? Brought out a new product or service?), then let us help you get much more mileage out of your press release. We submit it, on your behalf, to online press release sites - a great way to really get the word out. The story is accessible, globally, almost instantly and remains on the internet indefinitely. Online PR is also excellent for building brand awareness and improving your reputation as well as your Google ranking.

Just before I go
In a study of U.S. recessions, McGraw-Hill Research showed that firms that maintained or increased their advertising expenditures during a recession averaged significantly higher sales growth, both during and immediately after the recession, than those that reduced their advertising spend.
So now would be a good time to start sowing the seeds, and it won’t be long before you are reaping the rewards, so get in touch!
